At Buckingham Futures we are working with our client in Grimsby currently for a Housing Enforcement Officer to join their Private Sector Housing Team on a 6-month full-time hybrid contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional to manage a varied enforcement caseload and help improve housing standards across the private rented sector.

Key responsibilities include:

Investigating housing complaints and carrying out property inspections.
Assessing properties using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
Preparing and serving statutory enforcement notices in accordance with housing legislation.
Managing housing disrepair cases and producing schedules of work.
Undertaking HMO inspections and supporting HMO licensing and compliance.
Investigating poor housing conditions and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Working with landlords, tenants and partner agencies to resolve housing issues and improve standards.

Essential requirements:

Strong working knowledge of HHSRS and private sector housing enforcement.
Experience serving enforcement notices under the Housing Act 2004.
Experience inspecting HMOs and dealing with licensing and compliance.
A good understanding of housing legislation and regulatory frameworks.
An appropriate qualification in Environmental Health, Housing Standards or equivalent.
A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
