Sheltered Housing Officer – 6-Month Contract

Rate: £22 per hour (Umbrella)
Hours: Full Time

Buckingham Futures are working exclusively with a client in Devon to recruit a Sheltered Housing Officer on a 6-month contract.

This role involves providing frontline support to residents in sheltered housing schemes, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and independence. The successful candidate will deliver excellent customer service, manage day-to-day operations, and support tenants with a range of housing and welfare needs.

Main Duties

Provide day-to-day support to residents, promoting independence and wellbeing
Monitor and maintain sheltered housing schemes, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment
Respond promptly to resident concerns, emergencies, and maintenance issues
Assist residents with tenancy matters, benefits, and referrals to support services
Maintain accurate records and reports in line with organisational policies
Work collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies, and community services
Support social activities and encourage community engagement within schemes
Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and housing policies

Requirements

Experience working in sheltered housing, supported housing, or tenancy management
Knowledge of housing legislation and welfare support pathways
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day responsibilities
Understanding of safeguarding and vulnerable adult procedures
