Buckingham Futures is assisting a local authority seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support their housing operations team on a large construction project. The role covers all project stages: pre-contract, construction, and close-out.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Prepare early cost estimates and project cost plans.
  • Support design development with updated cost plans.
  • Identify and assess project risks.
  • Assist in procurement strategy and tender documentation.
  • Attend stakeholder meetings.
  • Participate in pre-start meetings and due diligence.
  • Monitor risks, issues, and financial performance monthly.
  • Provide detailed financial reports and cost data.
  • Manage final account settlements and defect periods.
  • Ensure full documentation is collected (O&M manuals, warranties, compliance certificates, etc.).

Requirements: 

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Chartered (RICS) preferred.
  • Proven experience as Quantity Surveyor, Contract Administrator, or Employer’s Agent.
  • Strong knowledge of JCT Contracts.
