Environmental Health Officer / Private Sector Housing Officer – Hertfordshire (3-Month Contract, Likely Extension)

Buckingham Futures is excited to present an opportunity in Hertfordshire for an Environmental Health Officer / Private Sector Housing Officer. The role involves conducting inspections, re-inspections, and surveys in relation to private sector housing, with an immediate start. The position is initially for three months, with a strong likelihood of extension.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

Recent experience in Residential Environmental Health, including Part 1 & 2 of the Housing Act 2004, and expertise in dealing with public health issues and statutory nuisance using the relevant legislation
Ability to manage casework independently, take enforcement action, gather evidence, and prepare prosecutions when necessary
Full competency in the use of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), with the ability to prepare schedules of works for single dwellings as well as larger HMOs
Experience managing a busy caseload and making informed decisions on appropriate actions
Strong communication skills

The rate for this role is negotiable.
