Buckingham Futures is recruiting for Green Space Officer on behalf of our Local Authority client in Essex.
Are you passionate about green spaces and creating a positive impact for communities and the environment? We are looking for an experienced Green Space Officer to lead, develop and transform parks, play areas, woodlands, and biodiversity projects. This is a 12-month role with three days on site per week, giving you the chance to make a real difference.

What You Will Do
- Lead the delivery of high-quality green spaces, including parks, play sites, cemeteries, trees and woodland
- Manage contractors, volunteers and projects to ensure top performance and quality
- Deliver capital and community projects while overseeing budgets
- Implement strategies and policies that align with environmental and community goals
- Build strong partnerships with local groups, health organisations and other stakeholders
- Be the visible champion of green spaces, representing the organisation at events and in the community
What We Are Looking For
- Degree in Environmental Management, Horticulture, Landscape or related field, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in green space or environmental management
- Strong project management skills and ability to deliver independently
- Experience supervising teams, contractors and volunteers
- Practical experience in landscape design, management and appraisal
- Budget management experience, particularly with capital budgets
£350 per day (umbrella)
