BF4928 – Environmental Health Food Safety Inspections (East Midlands)

Buckingham Futures is recruiting for Environmental Health Officers to support our Local Authority client in the East Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced professionals to carry out food hygiene and safety inspections on a pay-per-inspection basis.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health

Certificate of Registration with EHRB (or equivalent)

Proven experience in food safety interventions and enforcement

Strong knowledge of Hazard Analysis, risk assessment, and food safety management systems

IT competent – Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Flexible to work outside office hours and travel across the borough

Role Overview

Conduct detailed food hygiene and safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments in line with FSA codes of practice.

Deliver clear improvements in standards through advice, instruction, and written correspondence.

Complete approximately 250 inspections (covering new businesses and D category premises).

Submit inspection proformas and draft electronic reports detailing contraventions, recommendations, and compliance dates within 7 days of inspection.

Location: East Midlands
Pay Basis: Per inspection
