Food Hygiene Inspections
Buckingham Futures is supporting a Local Authority in South West England with food hygiene inspections and is seeking experienced Environmental Health Officers (EHOs) and Higher Certificate Technical Officers. The focus will be on Category C and D premises to help achieve the 2025/26 FSA CoP Inspections programme.
Key Details
- Contract: Until 31 March 2026, starting as soon as possible. May be extended subject to review
- Travel: Access to a car is essential. Mileage will be reimbursed in line with standard rates
- Autonomy: Conduct inspections, reporting, and lone worker monitoring independently
- Mobile Inspections: Comfortable using a tablet (Merlin)
- System Experience: Previous use of NEC Assure advantageous
Responsibilities
- Conduct unannounced inspections of Category C and D premises
- Complete risk assessments and produce detailed inspection reports
- Conduct enforcement revisits and gather admissible evidence where necessary
- Issue inspection letters within 10 working days
- Provide advice and guidance to food business operators on compliance matters
Requirements
- Competence in Inspection of Food Establishments (Cluster 4)
- Minimum 10 hours Food Core CPD completed
- EHORB/EHRB registration or equivalent relevant qualifications
- Experience in Food Hygiene and Food Standards enforcement
