Buckingham Futures is excited to partner with a leading local authority in Sussex to recruit a new permanent Senior Environmental Protection Officer – Noise & Acoustics Lead. This is a brilliant chance to take ownership of environmental noise and pollution management, provide expert acoustic guidance, carry out assessments, and enforce regulations where necessary.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Carry out noise monitoring, analysis, and reporting using sound level meters and GIS tools
- Lead complex investigations and respond to community concerns
- Provide specialist advice on planning, construction, transport, and licensing projects
- Support broader environmental protection initiatives, including Port Health and imported food inspections
Who We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in environmental health or acoustics
- BSc (Hons) in Environmental Health or Diploma in Acoustics & Noise Control (IOA)
- Membership of CIEH or IOA, or equivalent
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
