Buckingham Futures is assisting a Local Authority in recruiting a Parking and Enforcement Manager.
You will lead a team to provide safe, efficient on and off-street parking, street-based enforcement, and address environmental issues such as litter and PSPO breaches, fostering a proactive performance culture and value-for-money service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including resource deployment, budgets, and performance monitoring.
- Lead, support, and develop the team through coaching and performance management.
- Monitor services to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with required standards.
- Advise and support the Head of Service as needed.
- Lead operational initiatives, projects, and joint operations, maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.
- Provide expert advice on operational matters, complaints, and enquiries to colleagues, senior management, and external agencies.
- Ensure staff operate safely, including incident reporting, investigations, and supporting legal processes.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Proven experience managing people and developing high-performing teams.
- Track record in operational management within relevant areas.
- Experience in customer-facing regulatory or enforcement roles.
- Good knowledge of relevant legislation (Traffic Management Act 2004, Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions, PSPOs, Environmental Protection Act 1990, Health Act 2006).
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience; recognised management qualification or equivalent experience.
