Buckingham Futures is partnered with a Local Authority based in Bristol hiring Senior Building Control roles offering opportunities to handle a range of cases, develop your skills, and contribute to a modern, responsive service.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate development projects ensuring applications are lawful, compliant with Government policy and the Building Safety Act, and aligned with developer and stakeholder objectives.
Act as the professional expert in building regulations, structural or fire engineering, ensuring accurate interpretation, compliance, and consistency across the team.
Deliver projects within time and budget, maintain market share through efficient processing, and support service planning with robust technical justifications.
Organise, motivate, and train team members (including Class 2 surveyors) to achieve service priorities, uphold ethical standards, and maintain professional excellence.

Experience and Qualifications :

Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. RICS, CABE, IStructE, ICE, or IFE).
Valid registration with the Building Safety Regulator – minimum Class 2 or 3 (if Class 2, must work under supervision).
Experience in local government and understanding of its decision-making processes.
Ability to market the service, work with private sector partners, and act as a technical expert on major projects.
