Buckingham Futures are assisting a Local Authority in Central London on the hunt for a Environmental Health Officer to join their HMO Licensing Team. This role plays a key part in fulfilling their statutory duties related legislation, ensuring housing standards are maintained and residents safeguarded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process selective and HMO licence applications.
  • Investigate housing-related complaints.
  • Carry out property inspections.
  • Take enforcement action, including notices and prosecutions.
  • Ensure compliance with housing legislation and council policies.
  • Engage effectively with landlords, tenants, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage a varied caseload.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • HHSRS Certificate – Essential
  • Environmental Health Degree – Desirable
  • Proven experience in a similar housing enforcement role.
  • Experience issuing a range of housing-related formal notices.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation
