(BF4894) – Environmental Protection Officer – Hampshire

Buckingham Futures have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Protection Officer to join a local authority in Hampshire. This role is to start ASAP on an initial 6-month contract, with a strong potential for extension.
We’re keen to hear from professionals with experience in Environmental Protection.

Key Areas of Work:

Environmental Protection
• Investigating statutory nuisances such as noise, odour, smoke, light, and similar community-impact issues
• Handling domestic and commercial environmental complaints Drafting and serving enforcement notices, and preparing evidence for potential legal proceedings
• Reviewing planning applications to assess environmental impacts and provide professional input
• Supporting wider Public Health work, including pest infestations, filthy and verminous premises, and arranging Public Health funerals

Requirements:
• Degree, Diploma, or MSc in Environmental Health
• Proven experience in Environmental Protection, ideally within a local authority setting
• Strong working knowledge of statutory nuisance legislation and enforcement procedures
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Strong communication, organisation, and the ability to work independently
