(BF4880) – Health, Safety & Well Being Manager (Water Treatment) – South East England

Buckingham Futures have an exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety and Well Being Manager (Water Treatment) to join a client in South East of England. This role is to start ASAP on an permanent basis.
We’re keen to hear from Environmental Health professionals with strong management experience. If you have an interest in either area, the client is open to considering splitting the role accordingly.
Responsibilities:
Support the Head of Department in the delivery of the H&S strategy:
- Provide team leadership
- Act as a role model for behaviours and values
- Take ownership of HSSW risks and hazards and relevant elements of the Safety management system to ensure that all risks and hazards are appropriately managed
- Drive continual improvement in HSSW performance
- Act as single point of contact for relevant Water Operations and Facilities internal stakeholders. Use clear leading and lagging indicators to baseline and track HSSW performance
- Strengthen the management of investigations to ensure effective root cause analysis and effective implementation of preventative and corrective actions
- Liaise and build valuable internal relationships and externally with supply chain partners and regulators to improve standards and HSSW performance.
- Act as on call HSSW as part of the 24/7 rota to ensure functional support for incident management.
Requirements:
You will be an experienced H&S Manager, who has experience with people management as well as strong stakeholder management skills; with the ability to built rapport and offer advice and support to all internal stakeholders.
You will have experience in the utilities industry, with good knowledge of chemical and toxic gas risks.
- NEBOSH Diploma Level 6 (or equivalent) and ideally CMIOSH
- Extensive experience in a H&S role
- People management experience
- Experience in the utilities industry
- Good working knowledge of the risks associated with chemical and toxic gas
- Ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Driving license and access to a vehicle
This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working; normally 3 days on one of our sites, 2 days on home. This role will encounter extensive travel in the South East region.
