Key Responsibilities

  • Accommodation Management: Allocating and managing placements in emergency accommodation based on individual needs while ensuring compliance with benefit caps.
  • Client Support: Advising on charges, housing benefit applications, and resolving tenant issues.
  • Provider Liaison: Coordinating with housing providers to address issues and maintain adequate availability.
  • Financial Administration: Setting up rental agreements, managing arrears, and processing housing benefit claims.
  • Operational Delivery: Conducting tenancy audits, managing transitions to long-term housing, and responding to complaints.
  • Monitoring and Compliance: Maintaining accurate records, generating reports, and ensuring compliance with council policies.
  • Team Contribution: Supporting colleagues through training and participating in service improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of housing legislation, housing benefits, and temporary accommodation management.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
