Our client in the South West of England is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Housing Caseworker to work supporting individuals with complex presentations, including those leaving local prisons, as a Housing Navigator.

Main Duties

·Receiving referrals from criminal justice agencies for any prisoner with a local connection to Devon and Cornwall and homeless or at risk of homelessness on release from prison

·Completing the Duty to Refer to relevant LA where prisoner will be returning

· Working with the corresponding LA to provide Housing Options advice to prisoners and make referrals to relevant accommodation options in the LA area

·Completing agreed Personal Housing Plans for all prisoners homeless or at risk of homelessness on release

·Providing 'Through the Gate' services for all prisoners with a Local Connection to Exeter and to those prisoners who are deemed 'vulnerable' and fit the Navigator caseload criteria.

· Keeping detailed records of all prisoners referred and outcomes on release

· Attending the Checkout Lounge and Departure Lounge giving relevant Housing Options Advice

Key Experience/ Qualifications

· Previous experience working in a similar role is essential.
