Our client in Yorkshire is recruiting for an Environmental Health Officer/Health and Safety Officer on an interim long term contract.
You will be required to Inspect businesses from all sectors checking they are compliant with the relevant legislation to ensure that they are meeting their new legislative obligations put in place in response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic along with responding to service requests and providing advice to businesses and the public
Duties
- Undertake H&S audits/inspections
- Assess Covid risk assessments
- Deal with Workplace covid outbreaks
- Respond to Covid related service requests including enforcement of the regulations
Knowledge and Skills
- A detailed understanding of relevant health & safety and COVID 19 legislation and current Government COVID-19 guidance is essential.
- Given the nature of the work, the ideal candidate will be qualified in Environmental Health with experience of carrying out local authority intervention work including dealing with outbreaks and infection control.
- Experience in carrying out H&S audits
- Experience in carrying out investigation work.
- Effective communication skills are essential for this role including the ability to negotiate in a broad range of often complex and difficult scenarios whilst organising/prioritising work to meet deadlines.
